From the heavily armored Brumaks to the unkillable Ukkon to the High Priest Skorge, these are the enemies in Gears of War that you love to hate.
The Locust Horde is made up of creatures that live underground on the planet Sera. They are the main bad guys in the Gears of War world. The Antagonists are strong enemies that come in many shapes and sizes. They are pushing humans closer and closer to extinction, which keeps the game interesting and keeps players interested.
The Locust use their different species and strategies to give the game more depth. The story gives players a rush of adrenaline when they realize they can’t trust their own race. These are the best bad guys to hate, whether they’re following orders from above or fighting a swarm of locusts.
Brumak (Gears of War)
The Brumaks were made by the native people of the Hollow by the Locust scientist Ukkon to be used as weapons of war. Even without their thick armor, the skins of these huge beasts are very thick. Even though Brumaks only have two eyes, their glowing helmet lenses make it look like they have more.
They have a rocket launcher on their back and chain guns on their wrists. These huge, intelligent tanks that look like giant reptiles are dangerous up close and far away. The reason they are tenth on the list is that they have a big backpack full of flammable Imulsion that will blow up if you shoot at it.
Lambent Leviathan (Gears Of War 3)
In Gears of War 3, the Imulsion infected Leviathans were added to the game (a parasitic fungal that manifested as a low-viscosity, luminous, golden, very volatile liquid in nature). Redesigned to carry polyps, these scary creatures would look for land on purpose to drop off their cargo.
Because Imulsion hurts their bodies and makes them look like they are in pain, lambent Leviathans are so violent. To make it go away, players need to shoot it with their glowing eyes. The only way to kill this beast is to throw a lot of explosives at it. Which puts it lower on the list.
Skorge (Gears Of War 2)
In Gears of War 2, a scary Locust enemy named Skorge is added to the game. In this part, he is in charge of the Locust Horde and has a deadly Dual Chainsaw Staff that can kill attackers in an instant.
Skorge is known for being mean, and he enjoys causing trouble and chaos. He keeps arguing with Marcus and his team. Skorge is a strong enemy who makes it hard for players to beat him without using their brains. This cruel animal is number eight on the list. Because Gears of War players love him for how cruel he is.
Colonel Loomis (Gears Of War: Judgment)
Colonel Ezra Loomis is a military figure who first appears in Gears of War: Judgment. He is shown to be a stubborn, unbending leader. Even though the war against the Locust Horde is still going on, Loomis keeps holding a trial to find out if Damon Baird and his team are guilty.
Even though there was a bigger fight going on outside the courtroom, Loomis was still determined to keep the trial going. This shows how strict he is about following military rules and how little he cares about the real situation. He is seventh on the list because he won’t give up. His actions can be seen as being against the main characters, which makes for some tense parts in the game.
General RAAM (Gears Of War)
In Gears of War, the villain known as General RAAM is shown to be cruel and ruthless. People are afraid of him because he is very strong and has armor. He is also covered in Kryll, which are bat-like creatures. That protect him in battle and make him almost impossible to hurt.
He known for being cruel to COG soldiers and killing them. Which makes people afraid to stand up to him. Because of how brutally he kills his enemies, he stays at number six on this list as a terrifying bad guy in the Gears of War universe.
Richard Prescott (Gears Of War)
In the Gears of War universe, Chairman Richard Prescott of the COG is a cruel and heartless leader who is willing to kill innocent people to destroy the Locust Horde and get what he wants. He showed this when, in Gears: Tactics, he ordered the Hammer of Dawn to attack Gabriel Diaz. The Hammer of Dawn is a satellite weapon in space that shoots deadly lasers from the sky.
These things show that he is willing to make hard choices. Even if it means sacrificing innocent lives for the greater good. This makes him a complex and multi-layered villain and solidifies his position as the fifth worst person on the list.
Matriarch (Gears 5)
The Matriarch from Gears 5 is a very scary bad guy. Dr. Niles Samson was the one who made the first Berserker. Even though she is blind, she can find and kill her attackers by using her other, more developed senses and her great speed.
This beast has deadly spikes on her back that she can use to kill enemies. She is one of the most dangerous enemies in the Gears of War universe. And when she attacks, she does so in a brutal and fierce way. She is trying to protect a weak spot on her back by keeping it out of sight. But if there are other things going on, this red spot can be targeted. Which puts her fourth on the list.
Doctor Niles Samson (Gears of War)
Dr. Niles Samson is a scientist in the Gears of War universe. Who had a big impact on the planet Sera. He tried to cure a disease called “Rustlung” that was killing a lot of people. He did this by combining the DNA of Myrrah. Who the only human not affected by Rustlung, with that of Sire to make a hybrid race. This race was a big part of how the Locust Horde came to be. Niles was also the one who made the infamous Ukkon.
In his quest for strength and knowledge, Niles did experiments that turned him into something with artificial intelligence. As a scientist, his choices and actions have had big effects that have changed the Gears of War universe and are the main reason why the Locust even exists. This makes him the third person on this list.
Ukkon (Gears: Tactics)
Ukkon is a Locust scientist and geneticist who is the main bad guy in Gears: Tactics. He became well-known as one of the COG’s (Coalition of Ordered Governments) toughest enemies. Ukkon used his knowledge to improve the Locust army, making them stronger and more dangerous to the people they were fighting.
The Brumaks and other things that Ukkon made are almost impossible to stop. Which is a big problem for the COG. Because Ukkon can heal himself, he is hard and very hard to beat. Which is why he is in second place on this list..
Queen Myrrah (Gears of War 2)
Queen Myrrah is the leader of the Locust Horde. She first shows up in Slope Game, where it is revealed that she is the one who made these underground creatures. Her work with Dr. Niles Samson was an important part of how the Locust Horde came to be. During the war against the COG, Myrrah’s main goal is to try to wipe out the human species in order to protect the Locust species, which she sees as her children.
The fact that she hates the humans of Sera makes her a dangerous enemy, and the fact that she is in charge of the Locust Horde, which is much stronger and bigger than the humans, makes her the most dangerous enemy in the Gears of War universe.
