Tyres Classification

A serial number which consists of a number and an alphabet is embedded in the tyre sidewalls. This marking shows knowledge and information about the tyre. For example, the serial number 255 / 30 R19 (91Y), the number 255 refers to the tyre width. Whereas the number 30 denotes the aspect ratio, the letter R refers to as construction of the tyres which could be either radial ply or bais ply.

The two-digit number 19 generally denotes the diameter of the rim which is measured in inches. Whereas the number 91 is the load-carrying capacity of the tyres lastly the letter Y denotes the speed rating of the tyres as beyond that you are not legally driving on more than that.
