French officials warned Thursday (16/6) , the country will be hit by a heatwave, the earliest since at least 2005. In Spain the heatwave has caused forest fires in several places. Both countries this year have recorded the hottest month of May.
The situation is exacerbated because there is a drought caused by minimal rainfall during winter and spring, as quoted from the DW Indonesia page, Saturday (18/6/2022).
The Meteo France weather service said large parts of France would see higher temperatures on Saturday (18/6), with a range of 35 degrees Celsius, before the storm cooled the weather again on Sunday (19/6).
The Aemet weather service in Spain forecast temperatures will reach 43 degrees Celsius by the end of the week.
