Cheryl A song writer now got her start in acting in the supernatural thriller A Ghost Story

Singer-songwriter Cheryl will take over from TV presenter Laura Whitmore when she joins the new solid for supernatural thriller 2:22 A Ghost Story.

The 39-year-old former Girls Aloud megastar will make her West End debut alongside People Just Do Nothing’s Hugo Chegwin as Ben, Horrible Histories actress Louise Ford as Lauren and theatre megastar Scott Karim as Sam for a 14-week run from January 21 at the Lyric Theatre.

Previous seasons have featured the West End debut of pop superstar Lily Allen, as properly as appearances from Harry Potter’s Tom Felton, podcast host Giovanna Fletcher, Encanto’s Stephanie Beatriz, Busted singer Matt Willis and Inbetweeners actor James Buckley.

The show, written by using Danny Robins and directed by way of Matthew Dunster, follows Jenny, who believes her new domestic is haunted, whilst her husband Sam is no longer having any of it.

The couple argue with their first dinner guests, historic buddy Lauren and her new accomplice Ben, as faith and scepticism clash.

Cheryl, who has dropped her preceding surnames of Tweedy, Cole and Fernandez-Versini, will play the persona of Jenny.

On Instagram, she wrote: “I am SO excited to be starring in the west cease thriller @222aghoststory !! I will be enjoying the position of Jenny from January-April!

“I went to see the exhibit with a preceding solid and LOVED IT! It is a definitely new and thrilling ride for me so if you’re searching for a exciting night time out & some enjoyment in your new 12 months tickets are on hand now.”

The singer, regarded for solo hits consisting of Fight For This Love and Call My Name, ended the caption with “Whenever you’re ready” including a winky face emoji, referring to a shaggy dog story made on Harry Hill’s TV Burp from when she was once a choose on X Factor in 2010.

The play is transferring the Lyric Theatre for its fifth season. Its preceding runs have been at the Noel Coward, Gielgud and Criterion theatres.
