With the recent changes in the trend of educational preferences, the number of students opting for exchange semesters and foreign degrees has extensively increased.

A wider window of opportunities and career choices are now accessible, motivating the younger crowd to explore their possibilities internationally. Although this option is not viable to all people due to the comparatively higher costs set to be charged by the international school

The question raised is, what makes an international school relatively more costly than local institutions?

The following factors cultivate the answer to the question –

Education Value

It is largely believed that the courses opted internationally are planned and structured to ensure a better quality of teaching. Also, the degree obtained from international universities or under internationally adopted curriculum render more value and respect in their respective fields when produced before authorities in India. Since foreign education opens a gateway to more enticing opportunities, the money price also increases in order to level its worth.

Amenities

Most local institutions are not funded enough to be able to provide high-quality amenities to further enhance the quality of education. International Schools maintain a higher standard of education for which world-class amenities are mandatory. To uphold their standard, an upgraded infrastructure is required to be maintained.

This increases the cost of operation and maintenance for the school and makes it more expensive in terms of the facilities offered. Some of the state-of-the-art amenities incorporate nextgen learning methods, smart classrooms, smart tech in sports, etc.

These amenities require regular maintenance, for which funds are required to be generated. These funds are drawn from the fees paid to these institutions by the students.

Teacher and student ratio

A small-scale classroom population makes it easier for teachers to interact with students. Although in our country, classrooms are often overcrowded in terms of students capacity with a deteriorated teacher-student ratio making it more challenging for teachers to teach effectively.

International schools set a student limit for each classroom of up to 40 students approximately on whom they can religiously focus their attention. Even the top CBSE schools in Pune accommodate students up to a specified limit of seats in each class.

Working with instructors from across the globe

There are several faculty members teaching overseas in international institutions according to a recent survey. The origin is from diverse countries, especially in the UK, Ireland, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, South Africa, and the US.

This makes international schools an amalgamation hub of various nationalities, with ample opportunities for the staff to carve up new pedagogical techniques.

Competition levels

Candidates finely filter on the basis of their skills and interest and from diverse origins. This increases the level of competition among students attending similar courses. A healthy amount of competition motivates students to be more creative and dedicated to their work.

It also provides the required exposure and prepares them for possible challenges that they may face in the future. The advantage provides by international institutions balance out with funds, making them more expensive, but also more beneficial for a child’s career.

Similar to most situations in life, the best is usually the most expensive. Although making an investment for the sake of your child’s future is guarante to bring heavy dividends for both your child and you, a well-supplemented education is a golden pathway to a successful future.

Although, as easy as it is to say, being able to afford such advanced levels of education is a major challenge for most families. Hence, scholarships are being promoted worldwide in order to promote talented candidates from across the globe.
