After Al Nassr were knocked out of the Saudi Arabian Super Cup, a video circulated showing two fans trampling on a Cristiano Ronaldo shirt, apparently blaming him for the 3-1 defeat to Al Ittihad at Mrsool Park at King Fahd International Stadium.

Cristiano is yet to score his first official goal and, during the defeat, had missed a chance that could have changed the course of the game, even receiving a rebuke from his coach Rudi Garcia.

After the way in which a couple of fans trampled on an Al Nassr shirt bearing the name of Cristiano Ronaldo went viral, it was said that it was because they were annoyed with how little CR7 had produced, but the evidence establishes that it was provocation by Al Ittihad fans.

While it could be taken that after the defeat the fans’ patience ran out very quickly and they were upset because CR7 missed a clear goal-scoring opportunity, it seems an overreaction.

If you pay attention to the video you can see that the fans are not Al-Nassr fans, firstly because of common sense – any self-respecting fan does not trample on his team’s jersey and if he were to go to the extreme he would do it for a greater cause.

Next, it is noticeable that they are wearing the colours of fierce rivals Al Ittihad, who won the Super Cup match, and it is noticeable that they are wearing scarves and flags in their club’s colours.

It can be seen that black and yellow are the predominant colours of the fans in the video, colours that identify with Al Ittihad, while Al-Nassr fans are blue and yellow.

Nearly a month after his official arrival at Al Nassr, Cristiano Ronaldo has yet to score his first official goal and frustration is growing after the team were eliminated in midweek from the Saudi Arabian Super Cup.

It seems some fans are disappointed with what is happening with the Portuguese player because, after the team lost 3-1 to Al Ittihad in the match that took place at the King Fahd International Stadium, some fans were filmed trampling on his No.7 shirt.

While it is possible that they could be rival supporters, the video has gone viral and led to suggestions that some Al Nassr fans are already growing impatient.

Cristiano Ronaldo missed a good chance in Al Nassr’s loss

Although the No.7 scored twice in the friendly against Lionel Messi’s PSG, he did miss a good chance in the Super Cup elimination.

Even coach Rudi Garcia lamented that miss after the game.

“Cristiano Ronaldo missed a scoring chance that would have changed the course of the game in the first half, but congratulations to Al Ittihad,” Rudi Garcia said.

“They were much better than us until half time. Then we reacted, but we couldn’t turn it around.

“We lost the Super Cup, but we’re still top of the league.”

Cristiano Ronaldo really does need to start making a difference in the penalty area soon, to keep the fans on his side.

Surprisingly after his eventful departure from Manchester United, Cristiano Ronaldo was signed by Al-Nassr of Saudi Arabia, securing a sum of 200 million euros for two seasons at this club.

So far, ‘CR7’ has barely played two official partiesin addition to the friendly match that he played in a team with the stars of the Saudi Arabian League against Paris Saint Germain.

In the latter, the Portuguese star converted two of his team’s three goals, which ended falling 4-3 against the Parisian team. In the other two duels he has not had great performances and even, this week, he ended up eliminated from the Arabian Super Cup.

Of course, there is no doubt that Cristiano has millions of followers throughout the world. However, he also has quite a few detractors and in Arabia these have already begun to make themselves felt.
