svchost.exe is a shared service process, and it is an integral part of Windows OS, and it allows many services in Windows to share a single operation. More than one Windows service can run under svchost.exe, and you can check it through Windows Task Manager; since it allows many services in Windows to run at once, it consumes a large amount of space on the hard disk. Sometimes it is forced to consume a lot of space in hard disk or RAM due to a virus or malware. 1. Scan Your Device For Viruses

5. Disable Windows Update Service

And this could also lead to this problem of high disk usage and affect the device’s performance. The user can disable the Windows Update Service from the Windows Service Manager. After opening the Service Manager, the user should search for “Windows Update” and right-click and choose “Properties.” From here, the user should disable update services.

6. Troubleshoot Windows Updates Issues 

Troubleshoot is a Windows tool that automatically fixes the update problems in the Windows device. On the Windows menu, type Troubleshoot, and after clicking Enter, you will see the ‘Windows Update’ option in the ‘Troubleshoot’ menu. Click on this option, and it will initiate the repair process.

7. Re-install Windows 10
