Two struggling EPL heavyweights meet at Anfield, with both teams in desperate need of a win to keep their dwindling hopes of Champions League qualification alive.

The weekend’s English Premier League action gets underway with this crucial clash on Saturday at Anfield between Liverpool and Chelsea, in a match that brings together this season’s two biggest underperformers.

Accustomed to contending for the EPL title, both sides find themselves marooned in the unfamiliar territory of midtable, with a defeat for either team likely to deal a knockout blow to their evaporating hopes of an all-important top four finish and qualification for the lucrative and prestigious UEFA Champions League.

Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp saw his side beat Wolves in the FA Cup in midweek, offering some solace from last weekend’s abject 3-0 defeat away to Brighton. Key stars Virgil van Dijk, Diogo Jota, Luis Díaz and Roberto Firmino all remain sidelined for the Reds, but the return from injury of powerful striker Darwin Núñez will be a welcome attacking boost for the hosts.

Chelsea’s injury problems are even more acute, with no less than nine regular starters unavailable, including N’Golo Kanté, Christian Pulisic and Raheem Sterling. The Blues’ big new loan signing João Félix is suspended after being sent off on his debut in last week’s damaging West London derby defeat to Fulham.

Below, we’ll outline the best live TV streaming services to use to watch the game live wherever you are in the world.

Crystal Palace vs. Newcastle Livestream: How to Watch Premier League Soccer From Anywhere
The high-flying Magpies will be looking to keep their Champions League dream on track as they travel to South London for this tasty EPL matchup against the Eagles.

Third in the English Premier League table and looking every inch contenders for Champions League qualification, Newcastle United travel to the capital on Saturday for what looks like a tricky test of their top-four credentials against Crystal Palace.

A late Alexander Isak goal proved enough for Newcastle to beat in-form Fulham last time out, but it was a victory that came at some cost, with influential central midfielder Bruno Guimaraes forced off through an ankle injury.

The hosts come into this EPL clash off the back of a battling midweek performance that saw them snatch a late draw against Man United via a magical free-kick from midfielder Michael Olise. Currently sitting comfortably in midtable, Palace boss Patrick Vieira will nevertheless be looking for an improvement from his forward line, who’ve failed to score at home from open play since December.

How to Stream the CFP National Championship
If you don’t have a cable or satellite TV subscription, you can watch the title game with a live TV streaming service. All five of the major services offer ESPN.

Cardinals vs. 49ers Livestream: How to Watch NFL Week 18 Online Today
Want to watch the Arizona Cardinals take on the San Francisco 49ers? Here’s everything you need to stream Sunday’s afternoon game on Fox.

Winners of nine straight, the 49ers have looked like the best team in football the past two months. They have had the NFC West wrapped up for a few weeks now but still have something to play for in the final weekend. The 49ers can leapfrog the Eagles for the top spot in the conference and a first-round bye with a win against the Cardinals on Sunday coupled with an Eagles loss to the Giants. Kickoff in San Francisco is set for 1:25 p.m. PT (4:25 p.m. ET) on Fox.

The game will be shown on TV in the San Francisco and Arizona areas (according to 506 Sports) on live TV streaming services, but there may be cases where you’re blocked because of an internet location glitch or just want an added layer of privacy for streaming. There is an option that doesn’t require subscribing to something like NFL Sunday Ticket or NFL Plus, or searching the internet for a sketchy website: You can use a virtual private network, or VPN.

Here’s how you can watch the game from anywhere in the US with a VPN.

Cardinals vs. 49ers: When and where?
For Week 18 of the NFL season, the 49ers host the Cardinals at 1:25 p.m. PT (4:25 p.m. ET) on Sunday. The game is set to take place at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

Livestream the Cardinals vs. 49ers game in the US
This week’s Cardinals-49ers game is on Fox, so you’ll need a live TV streaming service that carries a local Fox affiliate that’s broadcasting the game. The least expensive such service is Sling TV Blue.

Among the live TV streaming services that carry local Fox stations, the cheapest is Sling TV Blue at $40 per month.

One important caveat: In our experience, Fox local affiliates will only be available if your billing address is in one of the 18 metropolitan areas covered in Sling’s agreement. If you’re outside of one of these areas, you’re probably better off going with one of the alternate services listed below.

Numerous other live TV streaming services carry local Fox stations as well, namely YouTube TV, Hulu Plus Live TV, DirecTV Stream and FuboTV. They all cost more than Sling TV, but they also carry more channels, including football-specific channels like Fox, ESPN, NFL Network and/or RedZone. Check out our live TV streaming channel guide for details.

Quick tips for streaming Cardinals vs. 49ers using a VPN
With four variables at play — your ISP, browser, video streaming provider and VPN — experience and success may vary.
Sling Blue is only an option if and when the ability to get Fox local affiliates is active on your account. You may want to verify that your billing address is eligible for that option before committing your credit card.

We tested the game successfully using an ExpressVPN server in San Francisco, so that location should work for watching the game.
If you don’t see your desired location as a default option for ExpressVPN, try using the “search for city or country” option.

If you’re having trouble getting the game after you’ve turned on your VPN and set it to the correct viewing area, there are two things you can try for a quick fix. First, log into your streaming service subscription account and make sure the address registered for the account is an address in the correct viewing area. If not, you may need to change the physical address on file with your account. Second, some smart TVs — like Roku — don’t have VPN apps you can install directly on the device itself. Instead, you’ll have to install the VPN on your router or the mobile hotspot you’re using (like your phone) so that any device on its Wi-Fi network now appears in the correct viewing location.

All of the VPN providers we recommend have helpful instructions on their main site for quickly installing the VPN on your router. In some cases with smart TV services, after you install a cable network’s sports app, you’ll be asked to verify a numeric code or click a link sent to your email address on file for your smart TV. This is where having a VPN on your router will also help, since both devices will appear to be in the correct location.

And remember, browsers can often give away a location despite using a VPN, so be sure you’re using a privacy-first browser to log into your services. We normally recommend Brave.

How we test VPN streaming for Sunday NFL games
For every game, we use a combination of ExpressVPN and either Paramount Plus (for CBS games) or Sling TV Blue (for Fox games). Using the maps on 506 Sports, we determine which servers are nearby and connect to one, then launch the streaming service and tune to the local CBS or Fox affiliate. If the channel comes through, it’s successful and we report the results above. We also screenshot the relevant program guide listing (see above) on either the local CBS affiliate’s website or Sling TV.

Liverpool vs Chelsea result, highlights and analysis after mid-table pair play out goalless draw
ANFIELD, LIVERPOOL — Liverpool and Chelsea failed to improve their poor Premier League position as they played out a 0-0 draw at Anfield.

There were few real chances for either side in a low-quality game that showed exactly why both are ensconced firmly in mid-table.

Chelsea debutant Mykhailo Mudryk was a rare bright spot, threatening the Reds’ defence with his pace and invention during a second-half cameo.

However, both managers were ultimately left to reflect on a point that does little to aid their push for a place in the top four.

Mudryk gives Chelsea hope of improvement
For all the negativity around both these teams this season, Chelsea can at least cling to the hope that their ongoing spending spree might bring about a sudden improvement.

Mudryk’s appearance off the bench in the second half here certainly hinted at that, the Ukrainian tormenting Liverpool’s defence in his brief time on the pitch.

If his fellow signings can make a similar impact going forward, then it is not hard to see things clicking pretty quickly for Graham Potter’s side.

In fact, a late push for the Champions League might even be within reach.

Liverpool might have to take patient approach
Unfortunately for Liverpool, it looks far less likely that they will be able to pull off a rapid turnaround in their fortunes.

The club continues to insist that there will be no more big-money January additions following the signing of Cody Gakpo.

And if that is indeed the case, then improvement feels unlikely until there is a sudden easing of injury problems in the frontline.

The Reds desperately need Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz back to give them sufficient cutting edge to regularly win games and that isn’t happening any time soon.

Solidity a base to build on
All is not completely lost for Jurgen Klopp’s side, though, with a rare clean sheet in this game at least offering reason for optimism.

It was the Reds’ first Premier League shutout in nine games and second in as many outings in all competitions after Wolves were kept at bay last time out.

Things might not be clicking up top, but stopping the opposition from scoring is a good starting point for any team looking to turn their form around.

Liverpool vs. Chelsea live as it happened, highlights
FINAL: Liverpool 0-0 Chelsea

FULLTIME: All over at Anfield and it ends with both sides getting a point. You’d have to say that is probably deserved given the real lack of quality on show.

90th min (+3): Nunez thinks he has a chance to win it when a deflected Fabinho shot falls to him, but the flag is up and Azpilicueta made the block anyway.

90th min: Five minutes to be added on.

87th min: Henderson is played in down the right by Nunez but Azpilicueta is in the right place at the right time to nod the cross away.

80th min: Liverpool changing things up again, Jones, Henderson and Fabinho replacing Gakpo, Elliott and Bajcetic.

Chelsea, meanwhile, swap Havertz, Chalobah and Mount for Chukwuemeka, Azpilicueta and Aubameyang.

76th min: Nunez isolates Thiago Silva one-on-one and beats him for pace on the outside but his well-struck, left-footed shot is straight at Kepa.

72nd min: Milner now heading off after that yellow, with Alexander-Arnold his replacement.

The young Scouser has a big job on against Mudryk, who has been electric since coming on.

67th min: And now Mudryk almost gets away down the left, forcing Milner into a foul that brings a deserved booking.

65th min: Brilliant feet from Mudryk in the box allows him to fashion a shooting chance, but his attempt is into the sidenetting.

He looks lively!

62nd min: Nunez now on for Liverpool, with Keita making way and Elliott dropping into midfield.

55th min: Mykhailo Mudryk getting his Chelsea debut, entering the fray in place of Lewis Hall.

50th min: Liverpool have started this half brightly, penning Chelsea in and creating chances.

The latest sees Keita volley goalward from just inside the box before a block in a deep position saves the visitors.

46th min: Liverpool get the game restarted… and a Konate lump forward very nearly deceives Kepa in the air before drifting inches wide! That would have been a decent start for Liverpool.

HALFTIME: The whistle sounds on an even but fairly poor first half of football. Chelsea had the tactical advantage in the early stages, but Liverpool have since found ways of playing through the press.

45th min (+1): Keita picks out Salah with a beauty of an outside-of-the-boot pass but, unusually for him, the Egyptian horribly miscues his finish.

45th min: Four minutes of added time.

39th min: Thiago gets a deflected shot away that Kepa gets down to collect with ease, but Liverpool starting to improve in the last five minutes.

31st min: Cucurella is down and needs treatment, but it’s nothing that will force him out of the game.

And now Chelsea go close as Badiashile nods a free-kick straight at Alisson when he had a glorious chance to score at the Kop end. Liverpool hanging on.

25th min: The ball falls to Gallagher at the edge of the area but his effort is tame and easily collected by Alisson.

20th min: Gakpo picks Hall’s pocket at the edge of the box but smashes his attempt way over. Needed more composure there.

16th min: This has very quickly descended into a cagey, low-quality affair. No surprise, perhaps, given this is ninth against 10th in the Premier League.

7th min: Gakpo blasts over after Salah tees him up in the box following a Bajcetic ball in behind.

The Dutchman really should have done better.

3rd min: Chelsea think they have taken the lead when Havertz pokes home after Thiago Silva had hit the post following a corner delivery.

Unfortunately for the visitors. Thiago had strayed into an offside position before shooting and the goal is chalked off by VAR.

1st min: Chelsea get us started at Anfield.

15 mins from kickoff: It is absolutely freezing here at Anfield as the players finish off their much-needed warm-ups. Both sides could do with a fast start to ward off the cold as much as anything.

30 mins from kickoff: Trent Alexander-Arnold only on the bench for Liverpool today as a result of a muscle issue that has kept him out of training in recent days.

45 mins from kickoff: No sign of that protest against Liverpool’s owners Fenway Sports Group that was rumoured on social media this week.

1 hr from kickoff: The team news is in.

Liverpool: Alisson, Milner, Gomez, Konate, Robertson, Bajcetic, Keita, Thiago, Salah, Gakpo, Elliott

Chelsea: Kepa, Chalobah, Thiago Silva, Badiashile, Hall, Gallagher, Jorginho, Mount; Ziyech, Cucurella, Havertz

1.5 hrs from kickoff: Team news coming in half an hour’s time and some big decisions for both managers ahead of this one. Can Klopp risk a start for Darwin Nunez following his return from a hamstring injury? And will Potter go with new signing Mykhailo Mudryk from the start? Not long until we find out.

2 hrs from kickoff: Hello and welcome to The Sporting News’ live coverage of Liverpool vs. Chelsea in the Premier League. How desperately these two managers could do with a win today to pull away from mid-table and finally kickstart their disappointing seasons – stick with us to find out who comes out on top.
