The production of slot machines has become an increasingly competitive market in recent years. Atronic Americas is not, as you might expect, based in North, South or Central America. Actually it is a German company. For some reason they didn’t think Atronic Germany sounded good. It has a beautiful ring if you ask me. Anyway, the company was founded in 1994 and has grown to become the third largest slot machine manufacturer in the world.
Bally Gaming Systems is the original big boy on the scene. Founded in 1968, the company operated under various names including Bally Technologies and made the first multi-coin slot and the first video multi-coin slot. Although they no longer have a stranglehold on the market like they used to, Bally is still a dominant name in the industry. They have nothing to do with Bally Total Fitness.
International Game Technology (IGT) is a manufacturer based in Reno, Nevada, the home of Lieutenant Jim Dangle and his fine lieutenants. IGT is a multinational company with offices around the world and is the largest slot machine manufacturer in the world. They were an innovator in popularizing wide-ranging progressive slots and created a ticketing system called EZ-Pay.
Konami Gaming is the gaming division of the Japanese company best known for creating popular video games played in arcades and on Nintendos around the world. How great is Konami? Vegas Technology is not based in Las Vegas as you might think. nope They are based in Antigua and were founded in 1997. Vegas Technology is best known for their video slots and the fact that you don’t need to download any software to play their games.
