ALMOST defeated by Inter Milan, Robert Lewandowski said Barcelona forgot how to defend. Xavi Hernandez’s team was held back by Italian representatives at Camp Nou in the 2022-2023 Champions League continued match.

La Blaugrana – Barcelona’s nickname – should have won in the match which was held on Thursday (13/10/2022) early morning WIB in order to keep hopes of qualifying for the knockout stages. However, they were held 3-3 and even almost lost.

Three goals for Barcelona were scored by Ousmane Dembele (40) and Robert Lewandowski (82, 90+2). Meanwhile, three Inter Milan goals were recorded by Nicolo Barella (50), Lautaro Martinez (63), and Robin Gosens (89).

Lewandowski also considered that Barcelona had forgotten to survive. The reason is, most Barcelona players are too focused on attacking and leaving the defense side.

“We were so determined to score that we forgot to defend. We tried to attack with more players,” said Lewandowski quoted by Football Espana.

Not only that, the Polish national team player considers Barcelona’s attack line is also less sharp. In addition, they are in a hurry when in front of the opponent’s goal.

“One of us lost guard. We scored three goals, but conceded the same number. We feel disappointed because we failed to win. We are not sharp and calm,” he said.

Now, the fate of Barcelona is on the brink of the 2022-2023 Champions League. Because, a victory for Inter Milan over VIktoria Plzen in the next match will ensure Robert Lewandowski and colleagues are eliminated.
