Procedure

The procedure to recover your data using the Data recovery tool is mentioned below-

Method 1- Using the original .TLG file and .qbw.adr file

The Transaction Log (.tlg) file stores the transactions that occur in the software and can be used to recover the transactions in case of data loss. The steps below will help you to restore the data using the .tlg file and the ADR version of your company file(.qbw)-
1. Create a new folder on your desktop with any desired name. Let’s name it Data Recovery.
2. Press F2 in QuickBooks for your company file location and open the folder carrying it.
3. There will be a file with an identical name to your company file and extension .tlg.
4. Right-click on the file, click Copy, and Paste it into the Data Recovery folder you just created.
5. Open the QuickBooksAutoDataRecovery folder from the location of your company file.
6. Copy the .QBW.adr file from the folder and Paste it into the Data Recovery folder.
7. Right-click on the .adr file and select Rename.
8. Remove .adr from the file name.
9. Open QuickBooks and try to access the company file you just renamed.
If the error is still not resolved, try the next procedure.

Method 2- Using .adr versions of .tlg & .qbw files

You can now follow the procedure of recovering the data using the .tlg.adr and .qbw.adr files-
1. Create a new folder on your desktop named Data Recovery.
2. Go to the QuickBooksAutoDataRecovery folder and look for .tlg.adr & .qbw.adr files.
3. Copy the files to the Data Recovery folder.
4. Right-click on the file and tap Rename.
5. Remove .adr from both file names.
6. Open QuickBooks and click on File.
7. Select Utilities and tap Verify Data.
8. Ensure your data has no issues by clicking Rebuild now if the Verify utility finds any problems.
9. Try to use the file in the Data Recovery folder as your company file in QuickBooks.
Your data will be successfully recovered by using the methods mentioned above.
